Sinochroma purpureipes (Gressitt, 1939)

Chelidonium violaceimembris Gressitt & Rondon 1970 is a Syn.

Here the pronotum from a female and a male.
The structur of the lateral tubercle is variable !
This is also C. violaceimembris. |

Does the specimen have some tubercle on pronotum sides?
I have female, but it probably fits. |

That is Chelidonium violaceimembris Gressit & Rondon, 1970. |

Si tratta di un Aphrodisium, probabilmente dell'Aphrodisium schwarzeri Podany, 1971, in realtà descritto dello Yunnan.
Il problema dei Callichromatini del Laos è che il celeberrimo lavoro di Gressitt & Rondon fu pubblicato quasi contemporaneamente alle monografie di Podany sui Callichromatini, senza che nessuno avesse tenuto conto dell'altro, col risultato che furono sicuramente descritti dei sinonimi e le tabelle uscirono incomplete (a vantaggio di tutti  ).
Purtroppo nessuno si è poi più occupato di rivedere questi nomi, per il noto motivo che fa più "gloria" descrivere nuove specie che mettere a posto problemi tassonomici che vanno avanti da anni... |
