Posted - 27/01/2011 : 10:18:05 With a lot of difficulties, I have finally found the description of Stenoderus ostricilla Newman, 1850 and of the close S. opacicollis Aurivillius, 1917. Though the numerous differences claimed by the latter author, these species are nearly identical, the only difference being the pronotum: shining in ostricilla and opaque in opacicollis. But I cannot detect it in your picture. |

This beetle seems to me representative of the genus Stenoderus. It might be Stenoderus ostricilla Newman, 1850, but I have to check the description. |
