Posted - 18/10/2015 : 11:50:21 Hello all. Many thanks for the discussion. Strange specimens indeed if they are P. waterhousei. Just to add to the discussion, I just went to my collection and found my pair of P. waterhousei and put them alongside this specimen. Here is the picture. I did consider Anameromorpha metallica initially.

Posted - 18/10/2015 : 03:48:26 I have seen only 4 or 5 Pseudomyagrus from Sabah. I have seen specimen(s) from Kalimantan on Ebay and they look very similar. Only the blue color might be a little darker or a little lighter. Perhaps that can be effected by killing chemicals. A photo of one in my collection is here below. For me it is very difficult to say that it is a different species than P. waterhousei.
Eric Jiroux and I discussed the Bornean species before and we both agree that if there were a large number of specimens available for study, perhaps a conclusion could be reached.
For now, I just consider it as P. waterhousei, but potentially something more.

So, your specimen is none of those 3 known species. |
