description of S. pseuodorsalis:
Very long, narrow, antennae thin, long as Body, fringed beneath, first joint short and thick, 3rd a bit longer than 4th much longer than 1st, lower eye lobes longer than cheeks, head punctuation less dense and rather fine, pronotum strongly bulged, each side of disc with two subsequently bumps, dense and fine punctured, scutellum wide triangular, elytra very long, slim and parallel sides, dense and less coarsly punctered only in the basal third, later already extinguished, apicad slightly excised, outer edge extented to a wide rounded lobe; each elytra with a postbasal elongated bump covered by a brownish hairy fascicle, and 2 small blackish hairy fascicles at the beginning of the apical 4th, near to the suture, adjacently, and united by a black cross macule at the hind margin. - Black, tomentation reddish brown and mixed with white, frons dense whitish marbled, few small whitish macules around the scutellum, each elytra with a large whitish postmedian macule before the black hairy fascicles, near to the suture only with the hind margin or at least near to the suture, and some small whitish macules beside the suture before the elytral apex, sides of abdominal segments dense withish marbled. Length 13-16 mm ..... |

description of S. yunnanus (also a bit difficult to understand in german  ):
Near to pseudodorsalis but shape more narrow, punctuation on head and pronotum very fine, elytra still more narrow, apicad more obliquely, outer edge more remarkable, very fine punctuated up to the last third and covered with many granules, each elytra instead of the two small postmedian hairy brushs each with a bigger same one at the beginning of the apical fifth, which is ochre-yellow in the anterior half and black in the posterior half, furthermore two very small premedian black hairy brushs one in the middle of the elytra and one near to the lateral margin. Tomentation brown (instead of reddish brown) without white marbling; a small postmedian white lateral macule as the single drawing, reaching up the the middle of the elytra forwarded to suture.

Tu as raison Xavier; le problème est que je n'ai pas ces exemplaires et je ne peux pas juger certains détails.
Quant à les description, ils donnent plus ou moins les même caractéristiques... interprétables... et c'est pas facile discerner sur la base d'une photo.
Ici par exemple, il semble que soit le rapport entre les yeux et les joues à compter... mais il y a une patte et je ne comprends bien. |

Non, ça devrait etre Sthenias gahani (Pic, 19120), décrite de Yunnan (Muséum Paris!)
Elle est la même bête de la Faune du Laos, mais il n'a aucune raison qu'il soit une espèce de Java (en plus qui ne devrait pas avoir de fascicules pré-apicales noirs  )... |
