| I am not expert so I cannot confirm but I have a male of this species identified as Mimohammus flavescens Aurivillius. |

| OK Ben, but of course the specific name is flavescens. |

Mimohammus flavescens Aurivillius, 1911 (type locality: Borneo)
I have several from Borneo, all three have some markings on the elytra. One (1) has markings like this, one (#2) has smaller markings and one (#3) has almost none!
The holotype has markings in between my #2 and #3.
M. biplagiatus was originally described from India. Wallin et al (2014) record it from Cameron Highlands, yet they provide only images of genitalia.
One must consider the possibility that biplagiatus is a synonym.

I don't think the two species are synonymous, but I've never seen any photographs of their holotypes. Can you show them to us, Dan ? |

I strongly believe these are all the same species. The markings on the elytra are in the same location. There is no other difference that I can find. The holotype of flavescens was posted in the "Type" forum.

| Dan, from left to right, your first two specimens are males, and the third is a female. The holotype specimen you posted is also a female. |

I do not believe at all that M. biplagiatus, which is described as occurring in southern India (Malabar, Kerala, and Karnataka), could be found in Borneo or Peninsular Malaysia. |
