Beaucoup plus grand que les 8 mm des specimens mentionnés par Breuning (1970): est-ce bien Elongatopothyne basirufipennis Breuning, 1963 ?

Avec l'aide de Gérard : semblable à Pseudocalamobius discolineatus Pic, 1927 illustré fig.15-4, page 378 in Gressitt (1970).
Breuning donne une longueur de 11 mm, mais sur un seul exemplaire. Je ne parviens pas à trouver la description originale de PIC dans ses publications de 1927; une erreur de date ?

Pas d'erreur. Cette espèce a été décrite dans le Bulletin de la société entomologique de France 1927 (52): 109.

It is not at all Pseudocalamobius discolineatus, which is much smaller (10 mm), has a slightly trapezoidal forehead, and the fourth antennomere is half as long as the third.(etc)

The only plausible species is Pseudocalamobius talianus Pic, 1916. (18 mm, reddish, lower eye lobes as long as cheeks, etc.), but the PIC species has a head that is the same width as the pronotum.
