Thank you Jean-Philippe, but you you think this one is nearer Tetraophthalmus partitus (Gahan) 1901 ? |

Original description of Tetraophthalmus partitus (Gahan, 1901). From GAHAN C. J., 1901. A Revision of Astathes, Newm., and allied Genera of Longicorn Coleoptera. The Transactions of the Entomological Society of London 1901 (1): 37-74, pl. IV. |

Thank you Xavier, I am tending to lean towards partitus as mine has no black on shoulder as shown in "Cerambycidae Genus" website |

I would just call this Tetraophthalmus sp. and be satisfied. Some species in this genus are variable in the amount of black on the elytra. A friend of mine believes that this group are mimics of distasteful Chrysomelidae or Hemiptera, and so the color patterns are very unsteady between populations. I have numerous species of Tetraophthalmus and Bacchisa from Borneo and Sumatra which are impossible to identify based on the literature. |
