Il est longtemps que j'ai la même espèce dans mon ordinateur, mais je ne l'ai pas encore identifiée.
Si je regarde le catalogue des Pteropliini de Célèbes, la seule espèce dont je n'ai pas la description est Hathliolophia alboplagiata Breuning, 1959... pourtant elle n'est pas présent dans la monographie des Pteroplinii asiatiques de 1962...
Son nom (alboplagiata, c'est à dire tachée de blanc) pourrait peu-être correspondre... mais vraiment...  |

I have the same species from Mamasa, Sulawesi. It looks a bit "alboplagiata"  |

mmmhm... same genus, not perfectly sure that it is the same species...
The general habitus, the ventral side covered with reddish pubescence, the head with four peculiar brownish spots fit this taxon.
But
- the article VIII is white in all specimens I have seen... sometimes, the base of the IX as well. The VII is more or less white.
That was the reason for which I excluded this species some years ago, but it seems a variable character.
- the body granulation seems to be denser
- the antennae are reddish
It is remarkable that the brown colour of this species (e.g. Vitali's one) is formed by... mud???
Do you agree to describe a new species?

It has been also my doubt. This species does not look identical to the type.
I'll check my specimen more carefully. If it were mud, it would not be possible to see white spots in elytra, which are seen probably the best right in my specimen. |

Il n'y a pas d'autres possibles à Célèbes.
C'est évidemment le même genre, monospécifique.
