Seeing now what is a Coptommatini (Navomorpha) I think the ID of this beetle is wrong.
Would be pleased to know the genus and species if possible. (Tmesisternini)?

yes, it should be Tmesisternus continentalis Breuning, 1942
I don't agree with the subspecies asignment in Gressitt (1984)
That's the first Tmesisternus I see from Australia

Thank you Andreas for your identification. Last year you determined for me Tmesisternus schaumii Pascoe ssp. from PNG, ESP, Mapuk (posted 06/02/2017). I have another specimen identified as Tmesisternus yorkensis (Fairmaire) from Australia, Iron Range, Cape York, N. Qld, May 4, 1968. =T. schaumii yorkensis (Fairmaire) ? Correct ?
It is surely different and much smaller from the PNG specimen. I can make a photo if you wish. From Australia I also have few Temnosternus, Temnosternopsis, Trigonoptera.

I you can, please post the Tmesisternini to the forum, all is interesting to see from Australia, but with the genus Temnosternus /Temnosternopsis I'm not so much familar because I have'nt see a few types only, and of course there are any new species.
