This 17 mm beetle typical for Argentina should be an Anoploderma - or is it Sypilus?
And which one?

The antennomere III much shorter than IV implies the genus Sypilus and its colour excludes S. ferrugineus Gounelle, 1913.
More details about its label?

I only have: Argentina, Cordoba, Alta Cracia, 02/2011.
Bezark indicates Cordoba for S. ferrugineus... but, as you say, the colour does not really fit. Although it could be possible that the photo shows an immature form, or a specimen turned pale. The photo does not show clearly the type of pilosity of the pronotum but as far as I can see it it quite close to the one my specimen has.
On the other hand, S. orbignyi is totally identical in it's colour and antennal form; but the pronotum is much more pubescent. My specimen could be strongly rubbed off.

My problem was excluding Sypilus boeroi Prosen, 1960, of which I have neither description nor picture.
Concerning the remaining species, both inhabit Cordoba (cf. here).
The description of ferrugineus (originally a variety) was just based on its colour; hence, I think that Sypilus orbignyi Guérin-Méneville, 1840 is the right ID.

Yes, seeing these references, I agree with you.
Thank you, Francesco.
