My specimens are darker than the holotype at the base of the elytra and femora. There are no other significant differences (The median hair band is clearly present on the pronotum of my specimens, but it is not visible in this photograph).
Elongatopothyne basirufipennis Breuning, 1963, the only species in the genus.
