For further explanation, the photo below shows a typical specimen of sinicum from Shanghai (China) corresponding to the original description framed by two e.g. of sinicum ssp. from Quang Nam province (Vietnam).
It is easy to notice the differences in habitus (more stocky in sinicum s.str.), in the ratio of antennal articles 4 / 5, in the relief of the elytral coasts, in the spiny apex in ssp. among others...
Nevertheless, it remains a related species with sinicum.

Hello Len,
Yes, as indicated in response to your previous post, this population is close to sinicum s.str. but with fairly constant morphological differences. Difficult to position in terms of taxonomy between the result of a sympatric or parapatric speciation or simply a branch of a clade. I have a series of these specimens almost all originating from Tai Giang / Quang Nam and for the moment identified as sinicum ssp.
