In its description, Eupogoniopsis granulatus Lim, Lim & Lee, 2013 has the pronotum 1.2 times as long as wide; nothing about mid coxa. Anyway, it should belong to Asaperdina Breuning, 1975, and it could be a synonym of one of Asaperdina species described from China.

from Breuning, 1975. Révision de la tribu des Rhodopini Gress. de la région Asiato-Australienne.

Antennomera are quite the same in both descriptions; main differences are:

Asaperdina Breuning, 1975 : pronotum as long as wide; mid coxa open.

Eupogoniopsis Breuning, 1949 : pronotum larger than long (transverse); mid coxa closed.

Thanks for the explanation. I`m about genus (it`s the same evidently being compared to japanese beetles). I don`t sure about these species (they are different probably... There are delicate differences in Lim`s paper). If Asaperdina not a synonyme for Eupogoniopsis so japanese E. granulatus must be Asaperdina.

A synonym species ? or / and synonym genus ?

About Asaperdina Breuning, 1975 , have a look to the type species Asaperdina regularis (Pic, 1923) here.

Eupogoniopsis Breuning,1949 is based on Eupogoniopsis tenuicornis (Bates, 1884) ( a picture here)

For me it`s very similar to Eupogoniopsis like this

or something closely related

I have determinated my own specimens as Asaperdina sordida (Gressitt, 1951).
