The authors give a short key to the species of the Aegosoma giganteum group:
1. Elytra thinly pubescent ........................................................................ A. annulicornis Komiya - Elytra glabrous ................................................................................. 2 2. Elytra margined by black, with costae distinct and partly dark coloured ........................ A. gigantea Lansberge - Elytra not margined by black, costae usually indistinct and almost not raised ................... 3 3. Elytra milk-white, not transparent, margined with light brown .................................. A. ossea Aurivillius - Elytrae yellow, semi-transparent, marginal parts almost the same colored to the middle part ..... A. pallida Komiya & Drumont |
