Posted - 25/03/2015 : 19:10:29 I would just call this Tetraophthalmus sp. and be satisfied. Some species in this genus are variable in the amount of black on the elytra. A friend of mine believes that this group are mimics of distasteful Chrysomelidae or Hemiptera, and so the color patterns are very unsteady between populations. I have numerous species of Tetraophthalmus and Bacchisa from Borneo and Sumatra which are impossible to identify based on the literature. |

Posted - 25/03/2015 : 14:59:40 Probably Bacchisa, perhaps Tetraophthalmus (difficult to determinate here). it seems to be Tetraophthalmus nitens (Fabricius, 1801) |
