Hello Claude !
Tes conclusions m'intéressent aussi,...je ne sais toujours pas nommer mes spécimens de Thailande.

Hi Lenny, I recently made a study on this group (sulcipennis) based on a lot of specimens from Bruxel's museum and private collection of A.Drumont.

I will send you a personal mail tomorrow about my conclusion.

When am I going to get a comment on this beetle. If ever. I think I would like it back.
Thank you

Yes, but I haven't any other information from Alain about this specimen. I'll ask him soon if he had time to compare it with other specimens owned.
The specimen is currently in my box of specimens under study.
If you want to recover it, there is no problem, just ask me.

Thank you Claude.
In your previous post you said Alain Drumont said it was being studied What were Alain Drumonts comments and who has the specimen now please
Capitaine Posted - 14/07/2017 : 18:55:46
Hi Lenny, in the current state of things i hav'nt any additional material to clearly identify a new species of Nepiodes (I'd like to describe it but i think that it's too risky to do this whis so little comparative material).
If you find an other specimen like this one tell me and we will consider a description possibility.
For the time being, keep the name N. sulcipennis (?)

Hello Lenny, I recently heard about Alain Drumont and he told me that the specimen is being studied.
He owns several specimens from Thailand and he's going to compare in order to determinate the variability on the known species.

Hello Claude.
I look everyday to see if there is any progress.
Capitaine Posted - 30/06/2016 : 12:14:49
After acurate examination of this specimen (sent by Lenny), I'm not convinced that it's N. sulcipennis.
If you have a look at the following picture: sulcipennis (holotype GMZS) left, Lenny's specimen center, and bowringi from Assam right.
The elytral costae length and crosspoint are different and the pronotum shaping quite different between sulcipennis and center specimen.
It could be an other species knowing that sulcipennis and bowringi are usually listed from Myanmar.
I will contact Alain Drumont in order to have his opinion an advice about this specimen.

Yes, I agree for genus Nepiodes but I don't know the other species recorded from Myanmar (and probably north-east part of Thailand): N. bowringi (Gahan,1894).
So, your specimen is either sulcipennis or bowringi.

I hope these will be OK
