For the Forum:
Trichocnemis spiculatus spiculatus LeConte, 1851
USA, Idaho, Boise co.
48 & 58 mm

Almost lighter than the specimens of the gallery here.

I do not really know why someone divides Callipogonini.
Does someone know the reason?

According to Lacordaire (1869: 56) Ergatini differ from Callipogonini in the hairless mouth pieces.
Please, verify if this corresponds to the truth or is sufficient to define a tribe.

The same author proposed Derobrachides, Orthomegides, Titanides and other strange groups...
