Hello all.
This new forum system has really thrown me, sorry!
I have no idea where I have to post species of a particular family that I don't now the genus of?
Anyway, I need help with this... probably posted in the wrong sub-section.

Oui, je suis étonné que, lorsqu'ils créent de nouvelles dénominations de genre (ou d'espèce), des auteurs de ce renom ne cherche pas à accorder le genre avec l'espèce au niveau de la racine grecque ou latine.. |

Le genre Strongylaspis fut crée par White (1853) pour Strongylaspis scobinatus White, 1853 (nomen nudum) et comme-ca mentionné par Thomson (1860: 313), qui est devenu son auteur.
Donc, ce nom fut crée masculin!
Malheureusement pour les deux auteurs anglais, le nom "aspis" est féminin (cf. ici) et comme tel doit être selon le Code.
Cette faute de Thomson avait été déjà remarquée par Gemminger & Harold (1872), mais il y a toujours quelqu’un qui continue à publier de fautes (par exemple la révision de Monné & Santos-Silva (2003) ... |

Merci Francesco, par contre je ne comprend pas pourquoi le type ici est étiqueté "bullatus" (bullata semble avoir été donné par Lameere en 1903..) ? |

The correct name is Strongylaspis bullata Bates, 1872. |

I think this female belong to genus Strongylaspis; maybe bullatus (Bates,1872)
Ben, when you have a doubt concerning the tribe of a new specimen, don't hesitate to put it on the folder "unidentified prioninae".
we will drive it on the right folder after determination. |
